Terms of use
In effect from
These terms cover Perland Launcher, Perland accounts, free servers, Perland Panel and the other Perland services run by PerlandDev (“we”, “us”). By using them, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use them.
How we handle your data is in our privacy policy.
Perland is not Mojang or Microsoft
Perland is not an official Minecraft product, and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. “Minecraft” is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB.
To play, you need a Microsoft account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition. The game is governed by the Minecraft End User License Agreement and the Microsoft Services Agreement, and you must follow them. Perland doesn't sell Minecraft or give access to it.
The launcher is free software
Perland Launcher is free software under the GNU General Public License, version 3. You may use, study, share and change it under that license, which governs the launcher's code and comes with no warranty. These terms cover the Perland services the launcher connects to.
Your Perland account
- You must be at least 13, and have a parent's or guardian's permission if the law where you live requires it.
- Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens with your account.
- One person, one free server. Don't make extra accounts to get around a limit or a block.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Free servers
Free servers are free and come with the limits shown in the launcher and in Perland Panel, such as players, memory and disk. A free server goes to sleep when nobody plays and wakes when someone joins. One that nobody plays for 30 days is deleted; we email you 7 days before. A free server over its disk limit is stopped until you make room.
We may change the limits, pause new free servers, or stop or delete a free server that breaks these terms. We don't promise that a free server is always available. Download your world from time to time if it matters to you.
Running servers on Perland
If you run servers on Perland, you're responsible for them: their content, their rules, their players, and telling your players what your server collects about them. You must follow Minecraft's EULA and the Minecraft Usage Guidelines, including their rules on making money from a server (for example, you can't sell gameplay advantages).
Paid plans are arranged with us on request. The price and terms we agree with you apply to them, alongside these terms.
What you can't do
- Break the law or anyone's rights, including copyright.
- Upload malware, or content that is illegal, sexually exploits minors, or promotes violence or hatred.
- Harass, threaten or impersonate anyone.
- Attack, overload, scan or break into Perland or anyone else, including denial-of-service attacks and using exploits.
- Use Perland servers for anything other than running Minecraft, such as cryptocurrency mining, proxies, VPNs or sending spam.
- Get around limits, blocks or security measures.
- Use Perland's API or services beyond their published limits, or in a way that harms other players.
Your content
Your worlds, files, configs and posts stay yours. You let us store, copy, back up, show and send them only as needed to run Perland for you. You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload, including mods, which come with their own licenses.
Other apps that use your Perland account
Other launchers and apps can let you sign in with your Perland account and create and run your free server from them. You always sign in on Perland's own page, which names the app and asks you to allow it. Those apps aren't run by us: their own terms and privacy policy apply to them, alongside ours. You can remove an app's access at any time under Apps with access on your account in Perland Panel. Teams that build such apps follow our partner terms.
Other services and content
Mods, modpacks and the services Perland works with, such as Modrinth, CurseForge, Discord, GitHub and Microsoft, have their own terms, which apply when you use them. We don't control them and aren't responsible for them.
Changes and availability
We work to keep Perland running, but we provide it as it is available. We may change, add or remove features and take services down for maintenance. The launcher is in beta and may have bugs.
Ending
You can stop using Perland at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or to protect other players or Perland, and we'll tell you why when we can. The sections on content, disclaimers, liability and law still apply after that.
Disclaimers
As far as the law allows, Perland is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, which is nothing if you only use the free services. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, or takes away rights you have as a consumer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protections the law of the country where you live gives you.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the launcher or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Perland after that, you accept the new terms.
